more pics of the wee lass

as far as they can tell, anyway. They won't promise anything, but we looked for a while and couldn't see any naughty bits sticking out, so the tech said she's pretty confident it's a girl baby. She was great, she gave us 4 pictures this time, and even let me pee halfway through. My bladder was so full it was actually impeding her ability to take pictures, blocking shots and stuff.

anyhoo, so that's big news, I'll leave you with some more pictures. She's waving in most of them, and I think sucking her thumb in the last one.

that is all!

A girl baby!!! Those are my favorite ones!!! **** I'm so happy for you! I heard some horror stories from other pregnant people in the maritimes that they refused to tell them the sex of the baby. I couldn't believe it! I'm glad you get to know, or at least they have hazarded a guess so maybe you can buy a few purple things instead of yellow while you're waiting for definite confirmation.

***please note - I am generally freaked out by all babies, until they can read but I always thought if I had a baby, I would want a girl because at least it would be a little bit like me. I know, totally wrong probably, but chances are slim to none that I will ever inflict my great life wisdoms on any children, so I don't see a need to look into it any further.

I second Jules' feelings about girl babies.

Also, she is *totally* smiling in the second picture; it almost looks cartoonish. She definitely looks happy and healthy!!

I also thought that girl babies would be easier, and freaked out that we were having a boy with Kieran. I think in a lot of ways though, boys are easier.
They're as sure as they can be about the sex, they'll never say "yes, we're sure, go paint everything pink", but there was no little...anything, poking out where there really needs to be something to make it a boy baby. And she looked for a while, and took pictures. She didn't print any of those ones off though.

also, I love that you said I can buy purple things, and not pink ones, because I'm going to try REALLY hard to discourage the pink wave of stuff that seems inevitable with girl babies. Pink does not equal cute in all cases.
